2020 Lincoln Aviator gets 28-speaker sound system
Lincoln calls it “immersive”
Meet the Revel Ultima 3D, the 28-speaker sound system Lincoln can fit inside the new Aviator.
The new Lincoln Aviator is one of the few SUVs that caught our eye in recent years. Thing is, Lincoln is not just about looks and comfort-inducing amenities. No. They also want to shatter your eardrums.
Dubbed as a “new system that breaks down wall,” the Revel Ultima 3D offers three listening modes - stereo, audience, on-stage - and 28 speakers for a 360-degree sound experience.
Lincoln says that the placement, tuning and calibration of Revel speakers are unique to each car they make. In the Aviator, for example, dual 40-mm speakers are positioned above each seat in the front and second row.
Moreover, every alert the car emits isn’t the annoying sound we all hate, but notes recorded by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Neat.
Last but not least, the audio setup features Clari-Fi, a technology patented by HARMAN. What it does is constantly repair the audio details lost during digital compression.
